My mentor and father figure Gerry Beckerman was in a terrible motorcycle accident. He was in critical condition and unconscious in the ICU in Fayetteville AR for ten days. On Friday the 4th of October he slipped through the grasp of this world and went riding into the sunset. Despite being far from home, his amazing wife Jules never left his side. To be there with him in his final moments it necessitated hotel accommodations as well as assistance to care for the animals at home at the ranch. We are asking for help with these costs as well as the funerary, memorial service and yet unknown medical bill cost. There will be a celebration of life event likely sometime next month with dates soon to be decided.
Gerry was a pillar of his community and an icon of the Midwestern tattoo industry. He touched so many lives and never met a person or animal that wasn’t a friend.
Gerry apprenticed me when I was 14. He made sure I had food when there was none at home. He was the one that came to me school plays and performances. He made sure I kept my grades up and stayed in school. He taught me the craft of tattooing and changed the course of my life. He was the father i needed and the best teacher i could ask for.
If you are unable to give or attend the memorial then we ask that you go and stand in the sunlight, help a stranger, pet a dog... Take a piece of the kindness that he brought into the world and share it. ❤️
