My dear long-term friend Gera passed away today. He battled cancer for many years, and for a time, there was hope that he would beat it. We often talked about how, once he was better, he would fly back to his life partner and start a family. But his body could only take so much. He passed away at Sloan Kettering around 1:40 pm.

I am helping his family to raise funds for the funeral and memorial costs. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping us provide Gera with a proper funeral and a lasting tribute to his life. He was a truly beautiful person inside and out and the world is a darker place without him.
