Support Gerard's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
Gerard Richardson was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer in August 2023.
On May 16th, 2024, Gerard complained of pain in his shoulder, back, and rib cage. He was admitted to Good Samaritan that same day. Unfortunately, on the morning of May 18, 2024, while still at Good Samaritan Hospital, he lost total mobility in his lower and upper extremities. He was immediately rushed from his hospital room to get an emergency MRI, which showed a tumor on the spinal cord that damaged C3 through C5 of the spinal cord. Today, Gerard is a quadriplegic. However, he has gained some mobility back in both arms and some sensation in his legs.

It’s been a journey for Gerard and his wife and family. however, we are grateful that we have a relationship with God. Gerard’s wife has not left her husband’s side since the spinal cord injury. She is with him 24/7 because he’s unable to do anything for himself, and she wants to see that he gets the care he needs.

Apart from being home for two months, Gerard has been between hospital and rehabilitation for almost a year.
He will be discharged to continue chemotherapy. Though we’re excited for the home setting, we are also in need of the equipment that is needed for homebound care. We are asking for your help. The bed is only one of the pieces of equipment that he will need and is the most expensive. I thank you in advance for your support. May God bless you tremendously.
