Hola, mi nombre es Gerardo Oquendo. Nunca pensé que estaría escribiendo algo así, pero hoy lo hago con el corazón en la mano. Actualmente estoy enfrentando Leucemia Mieloide Aguda, una enfermedad que requiere tratamientos médicos intensivos, hospitalizaciones y, como parte fundamental del proceso, un trasplante que me será realizado para poder avanzar hacia mi recuperación.

Este camino me obliga a pausar mi vida laboral y enfocarme por completo en lo más importante: mi salud y mi familia. Durante este proceso, además de los gastos médicos, se han sumado gastos de vivienda, gastos personales y el costo de mi seguro de hospitalización, así como el impacto económico de no poder trabajar con normalidad mientras atravieso el tratamiento, el trasplante y el tiempo de recuperación.

This journey requires me to pause my work life and focus fully on what matters most: my health and my family. During this time, in addition to medical expenses, I am also facing housing costs, personal living expenses, and the cost of my hospitalization insurance, along with the financial impact of being unable to work normally while going through treatment, the transplant, and the recovery period.
