Support Gerardo's Family After His Passing

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of my beloved grandfather, Gerardo S. Torres, who passed away on May 1st, 2025. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, and his presence in our lives will be deeply missed. A lot of you might know him from his days of karaoke, singing his heart out, or from his fun and light-hearted TikToks that brought a smile to so many. His absence leaves a huge hole in our hearts. Gerardo passed away due to cardiac arrhythmia. His heart had been through so much in the past 5 years that once he coded the doctors despite doing CPR for 45 minutes were unsuccessful in bringing him back. Over the past few years, he had been on dialysis and faced a number of health challenges, but through it all, he remained strong and full of life.

During this difficult time, I am taking the initiative to create this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of his cremation and the celebration of life. While we all feel the weight of this loss, I want to help alleviate some of the burden on our family—so that, in the midst of grief, we don’t have to also worry about the financial stress. This is why I am reaching out to the community for support in honoring Gerardo Torres memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate.

Any remaining funds after covering the expenses will go directly to my grandmother, to help support her during this difficult time. Con gran pesar, compartimos la pérdida de mi querido abuelo, Gerardo S. Torres, quien falleció el 1 de Mayo de 2025. Fue un padre, abuelo y amigo, y extrañaremos profundamente su presencia en nuestras vidas. Muchos de ustedes quizás lo conozcan por sus días de karaoke, cantando con todo su corazón, o por sus divertidos TikToks que hicieron sonreír a tantos. Su ausencia deja un gran vacío en nuestros corazones. Gerardo falleció debido a una arritmia cardíaca. Su corazón había pasado por tanto en los últimos 5 años que, una vez que colapsó, los médicos, a pesar de realizarle RCP durante 45 minutos, no tuvieron éxito en revivirlo. Durante los últimos años, había estado en diálisis y enfrentó una serie de problemas de salud, pero a pesar de todo, se mantuvo fuerte y lleno de vida.

En estos momentos difíciles, tomo la iniciativa de crear esta página de GoFundMe para ayudar a cubrir los costos de su cremación y la celebración de su vida. Todos sentimos el peso de esta pérdida, y me gustaria ayudar aliviar la carga de nuestra familia para que, en medio del dolor, no tengamos que preocuparnos también por el estrés de los gastos.
