SEPTEMBER 2026 UPDATE: Geralyn came home from rehab in late February and began two months of home care with intense physical and occupational therapy while receiving temporary support from meals-on-wheels. Since April, she's ramped up her OT / PT therapy sessions by going to outpatient care at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital four days a week as she continues her recovery.

Her disability benefits ended earlier this summer, and she's currently doing everything she can to find work and cover her expenses. Your donations have been a Godsend in helping Gerry keep up with medical bills, monthly bills, and daily living costs.

Earlier this year our beloved Aunt, Geralyn DiGiovanni, a neighbor and dear friend of the community, suffered a stroke and is currently in the hospital receiving care. We are grateful for the medical team supporting her and encouraged by the progress she’s already making. We hope in the coming days that she'll be able to return home, where she'll begin her road to recovery with in-home care and physical therapy.

During this journey to healing, Gerry will be out of work. Our goal is to give her the time and ease of mind she needs to recover fully without the added stress of financial pressure while she's off the clock. The last thing we want is for her to feel rushed to return to a physically taxing job before she’s ready simply because of mounting bills-- especially at her age when her health should be a main priority. Every contribution to this fundraiser will go directly toward supporting her medical expenses, rehabilitation, and essential living costs during this crucial period of recovery.

Anyone who knows Geralyn, past or present, knows how hardworking, kind, and generous she is. She has always been the person others can count on — for her family, her friends, and her community.
