My name is Jennifer Pongasi. My husband, Gerald Pongasi, started feeling off in July 2024. He had a headache that wouldn't go away and had cognitive issues. On July 19, 2024, he went to the ER where they discovered a subdural hematoma and took him into emergency surgery to drain the blood from his brain. When he came out of the surgery, he had a seizure, and he has not been the same since. He has had several appointments with neurologists and has a 4-day EEG coming up in April to see if he is still having seizures. The cause of the bleed is unknown as there was no brain trauma. His memory is bad, and the headaches are debilitating daily. With his cognitive functions being off, he has not been able to return to work, and he is still on long-term disability while the doctors figure out what exactly is going on with him. This has taken a huge financial toll on our family, with medical bills and monthly prescriptions, and his income being cut to less than half. We are just trying to survive. Any help would be amazing.
