Support GĒR Collective's Debut Performance: Gasket

Donation protected
Hello, friends and supporters!

We are GĒR Collective (pronounced “gear”), a movement-based collective founded by Scout Nankin and Eliza Loran. We are thrilled to announce our debut evening-length performance, Gasket, happening October 18-19th at the historic Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica, California. We need your support to bring this unique vision to life!

About Gasket:
Gasket is an experiential, multimedia performance that delves into the themes of memory fertilization and its inevitable depletion. Through a blend of movement, installation, and auditory motifs, our piece invites audiences to explore a recursive world where memories are constructed, fractured, and resurrected anew. This work examines the delicate balance between what is central and what is peripheral to our recollections, and the longing that arises from the discomfort of forgetting. Gasket is not just a performance but a journey through the ephemeral nature of memory and the visceral experience of recalling.

What We Need:
To bring Gasket to the stage, we are raising $9,000. Your contributions will help cover essential costs of producing a live performance, including:
2,500 goes to 4 talented dancers
1,000 goes to 2 amazing musicians
500 goes to our costume designer
500 goes to our lighting designer
1,000 goes to renting rehearsal space
200 goes to insurance
400 for documentation
1,000 goes towards materials needed to build and transport our set
800 goes towards stage equipment such as lights and fog machine

Why Your Support Matters:
No donation is too small! No donation is too large!! Or too medium, for that matter. We just thank you for being here. We are incredibly grateful for your support and belief in our project. Your support will enable us to cover essential production costs and pay our amazing collaborators. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!

How You Can Help:
Donate: Any amount you can contribute will make a difference.
Share: Spread the word about our campaign with friends, family, and on social media.
Engage: Attend our performance, follow our journey, and share your feedback.

About GĒR Collective:
GĒR premiered their first work, Problem Dog, in the Spring of 2024 as a part of the second annual Show N’ Tell festival at the Garage Theater in Long Beach, CA. Founded by two queer individuals, GĒR believes in deconstructing the conventions of performance and cultivating community in the process. Through surreal performance, dance, and installation, their work kisses discomfort with satire and addresses the bizarre, unseen, imperfect, and paradoxical nature of the human condition.

With gratitude,
Scout and Eliza
