I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of our dear friend George Burgess.

George is an Over The Road Owner Operator (Truck Driver) who was unfortunately injured on the job back in February. Since he provides the primary income for his family, he worked with the pain, thinking he just pulled a muscle in his back. Then the pain became so bad, and he began feeling weakness. He got an X-ray and was informed he had a T8 and T9 Vertebrae Compression Fracture and was recommended to get an MRI. The MRI confirmed he had not only broken his back but also had a serious infection. At this point, George was no longer able to stand on his own and lift his legs. They got him in for surgery right away, but now he has a long road ahead to recovery. Once released from the hospital, he is expected to be at a rehabilitation center for at least a few weeks.

George will unfortunately be out of work for quite some time while he learns how to walk on his own again. While he does have Occupational Insurance, the coverage is very minimal compared to his average income. The insurance will be covering the majority of his medical bills, but the family is in need of support for their personal bills to keep a roof over their heads and to keep him from losing his truck. We understand times are tough for everyone right now, so anything is greatly appreciated!
