The medical team discovered a tumor blocking the airway to the lower lobe of her left lung, and after a biopsy, she was diagnosed with a typical carcinoid tumor. Now, Genna is facing a long road of further testing, treatment, and likely surgery to remove the lower lobe of her left lung. This will require an extensive hospital stay and a challenging recovery period.

While Genna is incredibly strong, she is unable to work during this time and must attend many doctors appointments, tests, and scans. She is hoping to qualify for financial assistance from the hospital to help with her medical bills, but there will still be outstanding balances to pay. The biggest concern right now is making sure Genna can cover her living expenses and travel for appointments and treatments while she is unable to work.
