My name is Ariel and I’m the mother of a bright, kind, and creative 9-year-old named Genesis. Earlier this year, Genesis was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and severe hypothyroidism, a complex autoimmune disease where the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid gland. The thyroid controls much more than just energy—it affects mood, memory, digestion, metabolism, and even growth. When it’s not working properly, the whole body feels it. Genesis’s symptoms came on suddenly and severely:

• Rapid, unexplained hair loss
  
•  Constant fatigue and low energy 
• Brain fog, memory loss, and trouble focusing 
• Abdominal pain and emotional overwhelm

 
She started thyroid medication immediately, but many of her symptoms have continued. That’s when we learned: managing Hashimoto’s requires more than just medication. It takes identifying and treating the root causes of immune dysfunction. We are now working with a licensed naturopathic doctor who specializes in pediatric autoimmune care. This approach is already giving us clarity and hope—but it’s not covered by insurance. We’ve paid out-of-pocket for initial visits, lab work, and now for a full healing plan to support Genesis’s recovery. We’re asking for help to continue this care.

Genesis is full of heart and imagination. She loves theater, singing, painting, gymnastics, and beach days. She has a sharp sense of humor and always checks in on others when they’re hurting.
