My name is Natasha, and I am writing to you today with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit as I share the challenging journey of the daughter of my friend. Everything moving forward will be from mother's words ..........

March 5th 2024

This...... was the day I took Genesis to Mt Hope because of ongoing pain to her left foot. The week before we took her to Arima hospital where the treated her for a sprain to the affected area. Along with it, she complained about always being tired and sleepy. Then she complained about foot pain , which eventually led to her being unable to walk. She spent 10 days in the hospital , where she was treated for different things because they couldn’t seem the figure out what was wrong. Her hemoglobin dropped drastically and so did her blood count.

Fast forward to March 8th , where my whole world turned upside down. This was the day when the doctor came in and said he needed to speak to both parents . I felt in my soul something was wrong…… He gave us a few minutes and then said …. Genesis was diagnosed with Leukemia.

Leukemia. a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. This diagnosis has not only brought emotional turmoil but also significant financial strain on our family as we navigate her treatment options.

Understanding the Situation

Leukemia treatment typically involves a combination of chemotherapy, possible radiation therapy, and sometimes stem cell transplants. Each of these treatments comes with its own set of challenges and costs. As we strive to provide Genesis with the best medical care possible, we are faced with mounting financial bills, travel expenses for specialized treatments, and other related costs that are becoming increasingly difficult to manage.
