Support Gene Lowery's Medical and Living Expenses

I'm Cathy Thompson and I've been helping care for my dad, Gene Lowery. This month our lives have been turned upside down. My Dad unexpectedly needed open heart surgery August 8, 2024.  The Mitral Valve failed and desperately needed to be replaced as soon as possible.  Dad has made it through the surgery and is slowly progressing at Adventist White Oak, Silver Spring.

 

My Dad needs your help. He is physically unable to work anymore. He has been under a tremendous amount of stress with his monthly bills as his social security income isn't enough to cover his monthly living expenses. He is behind on everything.

 

We are asking for financial assistance for Dad so that he can focus on getting better physically and so that I can help him get to a place of financial stability after he's done with these health issues. We are currently faced with overdue monthly bills at home as well as a mountain of medical bills already starting to come in. Dad is 2 payments behind on mortgage ($2,800 a month), propane, electric, insurance, everything.  We have to keep the house out of foreclosure so that we can get it on the market to sell and hopefully break even. At that point we would help him find something more manageable and suited to his budget.

 

My dad has given to the Montgomery County community since 1976 involved in UMAC baseball league. He has selflessly helped so many kids and families over the years.
