Support Gemstar's Journey to Recovery

Hello there, thank you for taking a moment to read about our story. Our horse community has been shocked by the recent health issues our beloved 26 year old horse Gemstar is experiencing. Gemstar is currently at UC Davis for treatment for a severe infection in the sinus. Gemstar has taught, mentored and has been a true love to many equestrians lives. Students of all ages, and riders of all levels have had the joy of bonding, riding and learning of how to be the best equestrian one could be. Gemstar truly lives up to her name, she is a beautiful gem and a rising star.

Any donations are tremendous and a little bit can go along way to help cover her medical costs. Currently, her treatments have exceeded $6,000 and are predicting to increase as she is due to be hospitalized for several days. We hope that Gemstar is comfortable and getting better with time. Gemstar is truly a special horse, we know that she has so much more to offer and she deserves the utmost care. Please consider helping Gemstar get through this extremely difficult time. No matter what the outcome is, we are doing our best to help her get through this challenge.

Right now, Gemstar is comfortable and is responding well to her treatments. The antibiotics are working. We are so appreciative for the UC Davis Equine Veterinarian Team, including Gemstar's farrier who delivered lunch to Gemstar's family and caregivers. We want to embrace Gemstar's life and assist her community to help support her treatments. Her life is valuable and to those who can help, their support is invaluable. Thank you for all that you do.
