2025 update

Hi, I'm Gema. I have a sarcoma on my neck called a Desmoid Tumor. Due to the location of the tumor, my condition is severe, causing me extreme amounts of pain throughout my body. I was diagnosed a year ago in September 2023.

I have been on a medicine called nirogacestat and chemotherapy called Doxil. Due to the extreme pain, I've been previously prescribed, oxycodone, fentanyl, hydromorphone, and morphine. I had to freeze my eggs because after my treatments I would be infertile. This caused me to go into medical debt of about $7,000.

During my journey with my health, I faced a housing crisis. I was homeless for 3 months while going through chemotherapy over the summer of 2024. I was able to secure housing in an apartment in September 2024. During this time, I survived because of the generous donations from this GoFundMe. Thank you to everyone who donated. You helped me keep going, you gave me food, care, and support.

I was previously a student but because of my health, I had to quickly find work-at-home jobs. The job I work now doesn't fully support me and when I go through chemotherapy, I can't work. With my medical debt looming over me, rent, bills, and living expenses, I'm not in a stable financial situation.

I have about 3 months left of chemotherapy as of Jan 2025. During that time, I would appreciate any support, even sharing the link to this GoFundMe. Thank you for everyone's empathy, generosity, and kindness.
