Support GCELC, Family Child Care Start-Up

Hey supporters!

My name is Sharee Dalton and I am an early educator looking to open her very first Family Child Care program in Minneapolis/Brooklyn Center. I have just secured our program’s first home and will be operating as a Legal Unlicensed (LNL) Provider as I spend the next 2-6 months preparing for and in the process of obtaining my Family Child Care Class A License.

As I work diligently over the next few months to obtain licensure, I am asking my COMMUNITY for support in obtaining the supplies, equipment, materials and furniture necessary (required by licensing) to open our program. If you know anything about child care in Mpls, then you know how important it is that we, the community, come together to support and uplift those who chose to go into the child care field. We need more HIGH QUALITY child care options for our black and brown babies and with all of your help, that is what I plan to provide! I am looking to raise a minimum of $2,500 in start-up funds in effort to begin enrolling children as early as June 2025! I will also be creating an amazon wishlist for those who wish to purchase the items themselves and have them delivered to the home. I will also be throwing a Fund Raising Event in May 2025, be on the look out for that!

A bit about me: I am 27 years old and the oldest of 8 siblings. I have over 10 years experience in childcare, from Lead and Assistant Teaching in Child Care Centers, Nannying, Aiding for after school/summer programs and More! I am currently completing my AAS in Early Education and Child Development and will be continuing to obtain my BA in Education with a Birth-3rd grade teaching license.

I pride myself on being caring, reliable and for continuously adapting and learning! I am passionate about the social and emotional development of all children and I am working on building a brand of childcare that will reflect that.

I am a down to earth, honest and a patient person. I love arts & crafts and love exploring the outdoors, finding new and creative ways to help children learn and have FUN!

I am First Aid and CPR certified!

During COVID from 2020-2022 I ran a LNL program out of my one bed room apartment, during this time is when I began to explore options for opening my very own program! Since then I have been working hard behind the scenes to further my education, build a foundation for clientele and begin expanding my marketing strategies.
