Who I Am:

My name is Fatima Ahmed Alzahran. I’m originally from Syria, and I currently live in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. I’m a high school student running this fundraiser as part of a school project for my Challenge and Change in Society (HSB4U) course, but more importantly, because I care deeply about helping innocent people in Gaza.

Why I’m Fundraising:

What’s happening in Gaza is a humanitarian crisis. Families, especially children and elders, are losing access to food, clean water, medical care, and safe shelter. Many have been displaced or killed. I believe we cannot stay silent.

Who Will Receive the Funds:

I plan to send all donations directly to UNRWA – the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, a trusted and verified humanitarian organization. UNRWA is currently working on the ground in Gaza to provide food, water, medicine, and emergency relief.

My Relationship to the Organization:

I am not officially affiliated with UNRWA, but I am choosing them because they are internationally recognized and already active in Gaza providing aid. Once this fundraiser is approved, I will invite UNRWA (or Islamic Relief Canada as a backup) to receive the donations directly through GoFundMe as a beneficiary, so the money goes straight to them, not through me.

How the Funds Will Be Used:

Your donations will support:

• Emergency medical care

• Food and clean water

• Temporary shelters and blankets

• Support for displaced children and families

I will not use any of the funds personally. 100% of the proceeds will go to humanitarian relief only. This fundraiser will not fund weapons, military aid, or political causes, only safe, legal, humanitarian efforts.

Even after my course ends, I plan to continue this campaign, because helping others shouldn’t stop when a school project ends. It’s a human duty.
