Hello, my name is Hazem. I am 32 years old and from Gaza. I've been married for two years. We are just innocent civilians who lost everything from the war-torn region of Gaza. My family - my wife Shahd, our son Karim, and I face unimaginable challenges daily. With severe water shortages, food scarcity, and constant threats to our safety, our situation is dire.

Before October 7th, 2023, we used to live in our small home, which was partly destroyed during the war along with our furniture – the only things we owned, Hoping to buy a home for ourselves in the future from our modest monthly savings, but now all of our life savings were spent to buy food, all prices are so expensive and we have no income for 6 months till now! My wife and I used to work hard all day. I was an employee at Fusion Internet and Communications Services Company and my wife Psychologist.

Unfortunately, both of us lost our jobs due to the destruction of our workplaces. So when the war ends (if it does), we will not have any money to live on, and we already have nothing left in Gaza.

Now, as you know, we evacuated from the north to the south to live in a school in Khanyounis, and we evacuated again to Rafah to live in a tent on the street. We have no money to buy food, clothes, or anything to live – just relying on aid.

During all of that, our baby Karim frequently experiences panic attacks from the sound of planes dropping bombs. He also suffered from intestinal pain due to a lack of food, clean water, and the diseases that have spread all over our area.

All we need now is help to get out of here and begin our new future anywhere else. The cost of leaving is $5,000 For each adult and $2,500 person under 16 years old . We need $12,500 for my wife and me and our son Karim to get to Egypt, and an additional $7,000 to buy clothes and settle in for the first months. After that, we will search for work and start building a new future for us and for our child, who lived the worst days of his life.
