Support Gayle: Health and Living Expenses

Please support my Forever Friend – Gayle Olovson McKernan.
It started with a tremor in her right hand, barely noticeable. It got progressively worse to the point her source of income and her livelihood and passion, making memory quilts from articles of clothing from those that have passed, were affected. She couldn’t sew; She couldn’t thread the machine. Diagnosis – Parkinson’s Disease, this of all of the ailments she suffers is under control now thanks to her devoted Doctors. But then fatigue took over her body, all sorts of different symptoms and feelings were flowing through her, she knew something else was wrong. Back to the Doctor she went…Aplastic Anemia (blood cancer). She started all types of treatment, highs and lows, transfusions, injections, poked and prodded, then along came …Scleroderma. Of the three, this is the most painful for her. All the while she was having mini strokes… all of the medications had to be tried and tested for different interactions and some of the side effects were devastating. Each one of these diseases have the potential, some more than others, to be life ending. To me this is unbearable. The Doctors have told her three years, she has been given a life sentence of uncertainty and a feeling of hopelessness, but life doesn’t have time for those feelings. Her friends, family and amazing grandchildren are encouraging, uplifting and give her smiles that are etched in her brain, she will take them with her in her soul and keep them for eternity. My one hope is that you can help her live her day-to-day life, things we take for granted. She frets every waking moment about living expenses, car payments, and medical expenses that are not covered under her insurance. And I hate that she thinks about her final expenses, but she has always been a realist…I’m the one unable to think about that. I sometimes think I want her suffering to end but I’m not ready to let her go, she is my rock, my sister, my soulmate. She has assistance with food and utilities from various programs which are blessings and one less worry. The thing that brings me hope is I, and the generous people reading this, help relieve the weight on her shoulders that financial worries can cause. Today is your opportunity to build her tomorrows…I hope there will be many. Thank you for your kindness.
