Help Gavin Fairley Recover from a Life-Changing Spinal Injury

What began as a joyful summer for Amy, Gavin, Aidan, and Emma has instead turned into a heartbreaking journey no one could have imagined.

On August 10th, Gavin suffered a sudden medical emergency and fall that caused severe neck and spinal injuries. He underwent emergency surgery to stabilize his spine and is now in the ICU at Harborview Medical Center. Gavin is awake and alert, but with very limited mobility, communicating only through yes/no answers.

Doctors are still uncertain about the extent of his recovery. As swelling decreases, they’ll learn more about his potential to regain movement. The road ahead is long and uncertain. Full recovery could take up to a year and will require intensive physical and occupational therapy.

This has placed an immense emotional and financial strain on the Fairley family. Amy is by Gavin’s side daily, while the costs of medical care, rehabilitation, and living expenses continue to grow. We’ve set an initial goal to help cover these expenses, knowing the need may increase as his recovery unfolds.
