Mike "Gator" Pettit is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life. On March 27, 2026, Gator suffered a brain bleed (subdural hematoma) after a fall at the grocery store. Since then, he has been in the hospital, working hard every day through speech and physical therapy. The road to recovery has been slow, but Gator is making progress—he recently took his first steps in rehab, a huge milestone for him and everyone who cares about him.
While Gator focuses on healing, he’s also carrying the task of being the caretaker and provider for his brother, Nick. Many of you know Gator as a dedicated Lyft driver, always working hard to support his family. Now, with his hospital stay and ongoing recovery, he’s unable to work, care for Nick, or cover basic living expenses. The stress of not knowing how he’ll keep a roof over their heads is weighing on him during an already difficult time.
Gator has always been the kind of person who shows up for others, spreading kindness and making people smile wherever he goes. Now, he needs our help. If you’re able, please consider supporting Gator as he navigates this challenging journey. Gator is grateful for any and all support—every little bit helps. Your generosity will help cover living expenses and ensure Gator and Nick have a safe home to return to when he’s discharged. Every bit of support means the world to them—thank you for being there for someone who’s always been there for others.
