Donate to Honor Gary Giles and Help With Funeral Cost

My name is Tonya. Gary and I had spent some of the best times in the prime of our lives together, and I am truly grateful for the time when I was with him. I am reaching out on behalf of Gary and his beautiful daughter, Sierra. Gary was diagnosed with MAC lung disease a few months ago. If you know Gary, he's a very private individual, especially about his health.

This disease cannot be cured and causes multiple problems. The doctor described his lungs as if "a bomb had gone off inside of him." He also has nodules in his lungs too. Gary has suffered significant weight loss to the point where he has absolutely no muscle at all. What muscle he does have has begun to atrophy. He cannot walk.

He has been in a skilled nursing facility in Plant City for a few months, with a feeding tube. He was recently rushed to the hospital due to extremely low oxygen and has pneumonia and sepsis for the third time. They say he will continue to encounter this throughout his disease. But his spirits are high, and his sense of humor is still intact.

Sierra has been a trooper about caring for him from a distance. This child is the strongest little girl I have ever met in my life. Her love for her father is unwavering, and if she had the means, nothing could hold her back from the best possible care for her daddy. It's extremely difficult doing this from Georgia. She recently had a new baby, and she is just juggling so much at once. She is doing the best she can with God's help. She needs more, though. She needs to get him to Georgia, help with medical bills that have accumulated due to this dreadful disease and the dreaded inevitable.

She talked to Gary, and his wish is to be transported to Georgia to be near her and all of his grandchildren. Believe it or not, he's got SIX! His insurance will not cover an air lift or ambulance ride out of state. It's highly recommended that he be airlifted, but they will do the ambulance ride which may require sedation for pain, just so they can be together.

Time is precious for them right now. Their love for each other needs to be embraced and cherished. Please help Gary get the transport to Georgia.
