It all started with the further crumbling of my mouth due to deteriorating teeth, gum disease, and just old age issues... and while determining what was going on in one of my molars, it has come to light that the tumor/cyst that was removed from my jaw (under that molar) 12 years ago, was possibly not fully cleaned out, so that it continued to grow back and eat away a very large cavity in my lower jaw that now needs surgery to clean it out again and let it repair itself.

The good news is that the cyst was not a tumor and that it was benign.

We did our due diligence to see about trying to get MediCal, but the expense of traveling to/from the USA and the costs of being there (on top of the fact that Sergio is not able to travel with me at this point in our country's current situation), would cost more than having it done here.

We are also looking into my ability to be eligible for any benefits as his husband here in Mexico, but that would take more time and there is a sense of urgency in having this done.
