Gary was flown by emergency helicopter to U of M cardiac center for emergency open heart surgery on September 13th. The surgery was extensive, nearly 8 hours long and while the doctors were able to stabilize him, he remains in critical condition. He is currently sedated in the ICU, fighting through post-operative complications. His recovery is uncertain, and the next few days are crucial.
Unfortunately, this kind of medical emergency comes with immense costs. Even with insurance, Gary will face:
• High out-of-pocket costs
• Extended ICU and hospital stay bills
• Rehabilitation expenses
• Medication and equipment post-surgery
• Long-term recovery support, possibly including relocation or in-home care
We’re starting this GoFundMe to make sure Gary can recover without the crushing weight of financial stress and to ensure he has the support he needs to regain his strength, his health, and his life.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you’re not able to give, sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family would mean the world.
