I always say that I won the lotto in the parents department. I am one of the luckiest humans to have Gary Van Tassell as my father. My dad is the type of human that would give you his last dollar, and has. I remember we used to live in Tyler, Texas, by a busy highway, and we'd hear a lot of crashes. My dad was the first one to go running to help. That's what kind of man he is, so I felt like I needed to do this to help him. He has ALWAYS been there for me, so now it's my turn.

My father was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and stage 3 anal cancer …. A few days after that, he was involved in a horrible car accident and totaled his car and broke some ribs … So, my father lost his independence and his health all in one week.

My parents have always been there for everyone, and now I'm just asking for a little help for them. My father can no longer work and is going to need a lot of care as the days get closer to his cancer treatment. So, whatever you can give would be a HUGE help to them.
