You are in this group because you love Gary Nelson.

Over the last few years, many of you have helped encourage and sustain Gary through some very difficult times in his battle with Bi-polar and numerous medical conditions. Unfortunately, within these ongoing battles, he has often made decisions that have cost him dearly - finances, friendships, and independence. But thankfully it hasn't cost him a community of people who surround him, pray for him, and desire the best for him.

Specifically, Andi and Kate (his daughters) have fought for connection, health, and safety for their dad. It hasn't been easy, to say the least. We are creating this group/page/gofundme to partner together as they fight for the best outcomes for their dad.

Recently, Gary attempted to take his own life. Thankfully police and medical care were able to save him. He is currently out of the hospital and home in his own apartment. He is doing okay as he attempts to regroup and move forward. But the resulting stay in the hospital has created a compounding impact on his finances and has put his housing at risk - He is a month behind with another month of rent due soon. Being on a fixed income, catching up on a month of rent is impossible with transportation expenses, groceries and medical needs. Keeping the apartment is vital for him to find a consistency and rhythm to get healthy.

We will use this private group to post updates and to be a central place to give financially (anonymously or otherwise) for those who would like to help.
