Hello, my name is Dewayne and I am creating this on behalf of my mom and stepdad who are battling cancer, treatment bills, managing an owner operator trucking business and all the financial woes that come with these things.

In April we received news that our dad and papaw Gary has Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma cancer which has spread to numerous areas including kidney, liver, adrenal glands, brain, and others. Dr’s presented immunotherapy as an option but after 2 insanely expensive treatments, they only made him more sick so a choice was made to prioritize Gary’s pain management and comfort. He has now had in-home hospice for 2 weeks and is mostly pain-free, but no longer able to eat or move much. Mom has her own full time job but remains at home as his full time care giver. It’s been a devastating few months for mom, papaw, daughters, grandkids, and the many friends and extended family who love him.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to generate support for mom and dad to offset the financial headwinds that are already piling up. Funds will go to treatments, funeral expenses, general expenses from dump truck not being on the road full time, etc.
