My dad, Gary Hargis, is in the fight of his life against small cell lung cancer.

Not long ago, our world was turned upside down by this diagnosis. Since then, he’s faced hospital stays, overwhelming symptoms, and now ongoing chemotherapy. We’re so thankful he’s back home with us right now, but the truth is, this fight is far from over.

Gary has another round of chemo scheduled this week, and we’re holding onto hope while preparing for what’s ahead.

If you know my dad, you know he’s a simple, good man who loves his family and friends more than anything. His world is his daughter and his grandson, and some of his happiest moments are spent fishing—just being out on by the water, enjoying good music and the people he loves. That’s who he is at his core.

He’s always been the one people could count on. Strong, steady, and willing to help anyone without hesitation. Seeing him go through this is incredibly hard, but he’s still fighting with everything he has.

Right now, our family is doing everything we can to support him, but the financial strain of cancer is overwhelming. Between treatments, medical bills, medications, and time away from work, it’s more than we can carry alone.

We’re asking for help so we can focus on what matters most—being there for Gary, supporting him through chemo, and making sure he’s surrounded by love and care every step of the way.
