Gary Goldman, a beloved animator, producer, and director, has brought a lifetime of storybook fantasies and dreams to so many of us. Recently, everything changed for Gary and his wife, Cathy. One night while working together in his home office, Gary became confused, his thoughts blurred, and his memory faded. What began as a moment of confusion quickly revealed itself to be the onset of dementia. In the past year, this devastating disease has aggressively taken over, robbing Gary of his words and memories day by day. The man who once created magical worlds is now struggling to tell his own story, and it’s heartbreaking to witness.
Cathy, Gary’s devoted wife, has been by his side through it all. She is a person of grace, gratitude, and kindness, always there to help others. Now, she faces the overwhelming financial and emotional burden of caring for Gary as his condition progresses. The medical system is difficult to navigate and comes at a high price. Cathy is doing everything she can, seeking resources for Gary as a veteran and through medical and Medicare, but it’s not enough. She needs our help to modify their home, find the right care for Gary, and ensure he can remain at home as long as possible.
As a longtime friend of Cathy, I am reaching out to our community for support. If you can, please donate to help Gary and Cathy through this difficult time. Your generosity will help ease Cathy’s burdens and give Gary the comfort and dignity he deserves. Time is of the essence, and every contribution makes a difference. Thank you for showing your love and support for two incredible people who have given so much to others.
