Story

Gary and Barb Lane have been fixtures in the Idaho Guiding Community for decades, running Wapiti River Guides, and have been champions of Salmon and Steelhead restoration for nearly as long. Recently, due to COVID their guiding business, like so many others across the state, has been shuttered due to COVID, costing them both their livelihoods. To make a hard story worse, Barb was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer and will be undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy and major surgery, to battle this disease. The strain on their guiding business coupled with this terrible diagnosis has put them in an untenable situation. Everyone who has known Gary and Barb knows how spirited and kind people they are. They have fought for each of us, for our salmon and steelhead, and for our way of life. Now it is our turn to help fight for them. The road ahead looks bumpy, as additional diagnoses for Barb have been uncovered during the surgery. Their love and appreciation for each of you is obvious to anyone who knows them; let's help return the gratitude. Proceeds raised from this fundraiser will go to Gary and Barb to help with the major expenses of her cancer diagnosis.
