Help Garth Pereira Recover and Support His Family

Our good mate Garth Pereira — a beloved school teacher, husband, father of three, and well-known face in the Penrith and Blue Mountains — was struck down by a stroke last week.

Garth has always given so much to his communities — in the classroom, as a caring teacher; in the neighbourhood, as a dependable friend; and in the Australian whisky scene, where he’s known for his passion, generosity, and especially his love for Bruichladdich whisky. Whether sharing a dram or a good story, Garth brings people together.

Right now, Garth is in hospital, tackling rehab with all the determination we know him for. The outlook is positive, but the road ahead will be long.

While he focuses on healing, his wife Sarah and their three boys face a tough journey — emotionally and financially. From treatment costs to everyday living, the pressure is real.
