My name is Garrett Paull, I'm a passionate writer and director based in Los Angeles. Over the past five years, I’ve poured my heart and soul into the film industry, gaining extensive experience across the board from shooting movies, tv shows, commercials, music videos, live events and much more. Now, I am thrilled to introduce my first self-written and directed film, Fresh Air!

"Fresh Air" is a psychological thriller that follows a young couple on a camper van trip in the Northern California mountains. It's a story about the pressures of modern life, the stress of early adulthood, and the battle between freedom and responsibility. Imagine a modern-day "The Shining" set in the captivating world of Van Life, combined with the intrigue of true crime.

Why We Need Your Support:

Creating a film is a monumental task, especially for independent filmmakers like myself. Traditional funding avenues have become increasingly difficult to access, with investors and streaming platforms favoring established names and their own in-house creators. That’s why I’m here—to ask for your support to make this dream a reality. I am aiming to raise $35,000 to produce a pilot proof of concept for Fresh Air. This will be an high-end professional 6-day shoot in the Northern California mountains with a seasoned crew that believes in this project. With this pilot, we can show investors and distributors the film’s vision and potential, convincing them to support the full feature. A pitch deck just doesn't cut it anymore, they need a VISUAL and proof that you can make your film.

I’ve put all my savings into this project during a very hard financial time in the film world in Los Angeles, because I believe in it so deeply. But I can’t do it alone. - Lighting Crew (6): To create the perfect atmosphere for each scene.

- Camera Crew and Cinematographer: To capture the visual storytelling with precision.

- Production Assistants: To support various departments on set.

- Makeup Artists: For actor transformations and special effects.

- Actors: Compensation for their talent and dedication over 6 days of shooting.

- Catering: Meals for the entire cast and crew (27+) for 6 days.

- Lodging: Accommodations/Hotels for cast and crew during the shoot in Northern California.

- Travel Expenses: Gas for a 4-hour round trip to the Northern California location film site for 27+ people.

- Film Composer and Sound Design: To create an original score and sound effects.

- Color Grading: To enhance the visual mood and tone of the film.

- Rental Equipment: Including high-end cameras, lenses, grip trucks, hazers, dollies, generators, drones, and a techno camera crane.

- Expensive Film Permits and Production and Liability Insurance: To legally shoot at selected locations and ensure safety.

- Props and Set Design: Including vintage camping items, tents, flashlights, and set pieces for creepy scenes.

- Wardrobe: Costumes for 7 actors and various outfits for each.

- Post-Production: Editing, color grading, and sound mixing to bring the film to its final form.

- Festival Entry Fees: To submit the pilot to major film festivals and pitch markets.

- Storage: 10 terabytes of space for footage and project files, which means numerous expensive computer hard drives.

Their journey in the Northern California woods becomes a riveting psychological thriller, blending eerie cinematic professionalism with raw found footage from Summer’s VHS vlog camera. This creative approach ensures a captivating and unique storytelling experience that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
