My name is Christy Baskett and my grandson could use some help. Garrett Baskett (G-man) worked really hard to qualify for 2025 western regional championships, in alpine racing, at Mammoth Mt. He was proud to represent White Pass Ski Club. The night before he raced he became very ill and had to be medivaced off the mountain, in 50mph winds, to Renown Children’s Hospital in Reno. He was admitted into the pediatric ICU for Acute HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema). Perplexing because he had just been to Mammoth in May with no problems. The family is concentrating on getting him healthy but the transport charges and medical bills are piling up. We are so blessed to be a part of this mountain community who are asking what they can do to help.
