On Sunday, August 17th, Garland (Gar) suffered an ischemic stroke caused by a large blood clot in the left side of his brain. This stroke has unfortunately left him without the ability to walk, has majorly effected his speech, and has had major impacts on his motor function of the right side of his body. He has a very long road ahead of him and at this time, we are still very unsure of how extensive his recovery will be and how long it will take for Gar to reach his new "normal". For those that know Gar, you know how incredibly hard working he is, how dedicated he is to his family, and how much he loves his job and the work he does. Unfortunately, all those things, and many more, have come to a very unexpected halt for Gar as he works towards recovery. As most of us know, these types of major medical events can put huge burdens on a family and with Gar being the main source of income in the family, this has and will continue to take a huge hit to his family emotionally and financially. On behalf of Gar, his family is asking for help in this time of incredible uncertainty.
