Meet Gariban, a beautiful cat who was abandoned on our street and forced to rough it for three years. He is playful and sweet and loves wet food and belly rubs. Sahika and I have been feeding him for a couple of months, but yesterday when we went out to see him he was bleeding and had obviously been attacked the night before (and judging by his scars and chewed up ear, many many times over the years). We had already been talking about adopting him, and on seeing that he needed medical attention we decided to go ahead and take him to the vet and start the adoption process.
Gariban's tests for FIV and Feline Leukemia came back negative, but he did need some minor wound care, flea treatment, deworming, and his vaccines - and he needs to be fixed. He is currently recovering with a sweet neighbor so that he can rest and heal before being slowly introduced to Jenny (our other sweet rescue) and Spi (Sahika's cat in Turkey, excited to meet his new brother over the phone).
Gariban is already grateful to be off the street, and to no longer have to fight for survival. If you are able to send a few bucks to help with his medical costs Gariban will be eternally grateful and he promises to send you lots of selfies and videos.
