I am writing to ask for your help for Gareth, a gifted British-Australian musician and English teacher who is lovingly referred to by Lao friends and colleagues as "Bounmy". He mastered Lao songs before he learned the language- our Gareth has poured his soul into Lao molam music, earning respect and love from audiences across Laos and abroad. He currently works as a medical English teacher for Lao doctors with aspirations of improving doctors' access to modern medical education. Whenever Gareth teaches, you can hear the laughter of doctors and medical students ringing down the hospital halls.

On the night of May 24th, our beloved Gareth was on his way home from dinner and was involved in a motorbike accident in the middle of a storm. He became unconscious upon hitting his head on the pavement and sustained several fractures to his right arm and shoulder, which require specialist intervention and surgery.

He now faces painful recovery, medical expenses, and the fear that he may never play music again. But with your support, we can help him heal and return to music and teaching.
