Hi friends! On Thursday, December 11th, Ethan and I got a call at 1am that no one wants to hear. “Gareth (Ethan’s dad) just got intubated and rushed to the ICU. We’re not sure what's going to happen next.” Long story short, his kidneys kicked the bucket and fluid and infection flooded his lungs and blood, leading to multi-organ collapse. Ethan got on the next available flight to South Africa to be there while I worked in the hospital, anxiously praying the worst wouldn’t come.

Praise the Lord, Gareth is now stabilizing, and the reality of what life after the ICU is going to look like is setting in. Gareth is now facing the shock of waking up in the ICU, and a looming unknown amount of dialysis cycles that will not be covered by insurance.

We would love to bless them by taking some of the stress of finances off of their shoulders, so Gareth can focus on recovery and rebuilding around a new reality, and so Ethan’s mom and sister can breathe easier and focus on supporting the family and getting Ethan’s little sister through school.

At this time, Gareth is still in the ICU, with each day being an up and down with good and bad news, and a lot of big what-if’s. Any contribution is so appreciated, and if not with finances, then with prayer. All funds raised will be sent to them in South Africa.
