Support Gannon Buckner's Heart Recovery

On April 23, 2025, at the age of 35, Gannon Buckner experienced a massive heart attack that left his heart weak and barely functioning. Initially, Gannon was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Doctors inserted a stent in his heart and stabilized his condition so he could be transferred to the cardiac ICU unit at the University of Kansas Medical Center. There, Gannon spent nearly a week receiving lifesaving medications and treatments. His recovery has been remarkable, and we are forever thankful for the care Gannon received during his time at both hospitals.

The downside to this story is the medical debt that Gannon incurred. Gannon did not have health insurance at the time of his emergency as he had been laid off from his job in November 2024. He is in the process of applying for Medicaid which would cover a majority of the costs, but that would still leave tens of thousands of dollars for Gannon to pay.
