Support Gannicus' Fight Against Epilepsy and the Melichar's
Donation protected
Since birth the Melichar's knew something wasn't right with Gannicus' eyes. They were told it was normal and it was nothing to worry about. Appointments were canceled due to the hospital having increased RSV cases and they didn't see a doctor until he was two months. They noted their concerns at the appointments and again were told not to worry. They were told if they were still concerned, they could follow up with a neurologist. They did just that and were again told nothing was wrong.
The day Ganni had his first full seizure and an ambulance was called to take him to Children's, and there he was diagnosed with epilepsy. The abnormality was found in a second MRI that was missed in the first. Ganni was having seizures since birth and doctors were unable to detect this until he was four months old.
