Support my Goal and Mission for Peacemaking
My Goal: Develop competencies and skills used in the Conflict Transformation and Resolution Training Program at Eastern Mennonite University. Subsequently, I will apply that knowledge and these skills by working for educational and other international institutes to increase peaceful solutions to political and social injustice worldwide. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions should be the first of the 17 SED goals so that we do not have refugees and hungry people, and people work responsibly for economic growth but not for armed conflicts and new refugees. I think so.
I do live with a Mission in Peacemaking. I recognized it just recently. Peacemaking has been my life philosophy since childhood. Conflict resolution and peace are essential in any communication or dialog I participate in. At the same time, I have often thought about my Mission or God's plan for me. I got it; I feel so.
My name is Galina Kashevskaya. I am a political refugee with an MA in Social Studies and twenty-five years of professional expertise in budgeting and financial statements analysis. Since 2016, I have worked as a social-economic researcher. I fled my country "with the clothes on my back" for fear of being imprisoned after criticizing the autocratic and corrupt regime in Belarus, protesting against the brutal persecution of the regime opponents, and actively working to organize a dialog between different groups of our society for peace, justice, and further development. I vowed to myself to become trained and to work the rest of my life for the cause of human rights and dignity, peacebuilding, and 'good governance' principles and to contribute significantly to humanity.
I resettled in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with the generous help of my academic colleagues and friends. I work in the University's Dining Hall to support my living expenses. My income is meager, and it puts me close to the poverty level. I should build my professional future here and use my skills for Pease.
I was surprised to receive the encouragement of students and professors from the Center of Justice and Peacebuilding to apply for their 2-year training program leading to internship/placement in the International community. I applied and was accepted as a student for the 2024-25. Further, they assessed my already possessed knowledge and skills as worthy of funding 50% of the program's tuition costs, which means $4336 for a semester. However, I must raise $5000 via a GoFundMe support plan to cover the rest of my tuition and additional studying expenses in the fall. I have less than two months to do that. I'll be able to pay my rent and living expenses via my part-time job in the University's Dining hall to have enough time for my full-time studying.
Please support me as generously as you can. Any amount will be much appreciated! Your contribution and help in sending this appeal to your network would be much appreciated, too! I will keep you informed of my progress and studies. I have already opened an education account to report my expenses. We will be partners in making our world more peaceful and humane for those that follow. I will be forever thankful for your support. You are welcome to friend me on my FB Page. As you may see on https://www.facebook.com/galina.kashevskaya/, I am standing for peace and freedom for people worldwide.
I appreciate your support very much.
