Hello everyone, Galen and Misty here. We created this GoFundMe to share the devastating news our family recently received and to ask for your support during this most difficult time.

Galen is currently facing a cancer diagnosis, and we are overwhelmed by the costs of treatment, travel, and other related expenses. This has been a devastating blow to our family, especially with him being the primary financial support for us. This on top of his diagnosis of polycythemia last spring.

As of now, he faces ongoing testing and procedures prior to his wonderful team in Morgantown fine tuning his treatment plan. The basis of his treatment plan requires daily chemo-radiation over the course of six or more weeks. Possibly multiple rounds. That's just the beginning. There is the possibility of surgery in the event the current treatment plan isn't successful, as well as hospital stays in his future, follow-up testing and treatments, and a long road of healing and recovery.

Regardless of the treatment plan and/or surgery, it will be costly and time-consuming. From the commute to Morgantown for appointments, procedures, and daily treatments, to missed work, co-pays, medication, potential alternative treatments, home care, and so much more.

Galen does have insurance, but we have to reach the annual deductible before coverage kicks in. In addition, we will still have co-pays and out of pocket expenses whenever something is not covered by the insurance.
