Galen Robinson, affectionately known as "Tree," has always been a towering presence in both stature and spirit. Standing at 6'8" with a size 18 shoe, he’s a former Harlem Globetrotter, University of Houston basketball player, and a beloved children’s basketball scout. Galen’s love for people and his positive, loving personality have touched countless lives. Even through the toughest times, Galen keeps a positive attitude and inspires those around him with his resilience and hope.

In 2024, Galen faced a medical emergency that led to a diagnosis of sepsis, a staph infection, and diabetes. The complications were so severe that he had to have his right big toe amputated. Since then, his health challenges have only grown. In February 2026, Galen was admitted to the hospital with third-degree burns on his feet. He has endured multiple surgeries, skin grafts, and repeated infections. His diabetes and high blood pressure have made recovery painfully slow, and he remains hospitalized, unable to walk properly. Galen’s left knee became infected with sepsis, requiring emergency surgery and multiple drainings. The loss of his toe has left him with little balance, causing frequent falls and further injuries. Open wounds on his feet heal slowly, and he suffers from neuropathy and excruciating pain every day. Despite these hardships, Galen tries to stay positive, drawing strength from his faith and the support of loved ones.

Therapy is essential for Galen to regain his abilities, but the journey is long and difficult. As his friend and someone who considers him family, it’s heartbreaking to watch such a wonderful person endure so much pain. Galen’s medical bills, rehabilitation, and living expenses continue to mount, and he needs our help now more than ever. I pray with him daily for his recovery and believe that, with the support of our community, he can overcome these challenges. Please join me in supporting Galen—your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in his life.
