Dear friends , family , and community members, we are reaching out to ask for your urgent support to help raising funds for a life-saving EKG machine , Portable Vital Signs Monitor and other laboratory needs for the rural hospital in my hometown Galaalnahal . The funds will be transferred to a local committee of Galaalnahal citizens who have been actively supporting the hospital. In the past two years, they’ve successfully provided an ambulance, solar panels, lab equipment, and critical medicines — now they need our help again.
The Crisis in Galaalnahal
Since Sudan’s civil war erupted on April 15, 2023, the once-quiet town of Galaalnahal has become a refuge for over 250,000 displaced people escaping violence and destruction.
The town’s only hospital is overwhelmed and under-equipped. In recent months, several people have died of undiagnosed heart conditions like heart attacks and heart failure — because the hospital does not have an EKG (electrocardiogram) machine.
⚠️ Why an EKG Machine Is Urgent
An EKG is a basic, life-saving tool that allows medical staff to detect heart problems quickly and accurately. Without it, doctors are left to guess, and patients often lose critical time.
The nearest functioning hospital is in El-Gadarif, 80 kilometers away — a 2-hour journey on rough, unpaved roads.
Many patients don’t survive the trip.
Our Goal: $15000
We are raising funds to:
✅ Purchase a portable, battery-powered EKG machine
✅ Cover shipping and customs to Sudan
✅ Provide basic training for hospital staff
✅ Supply extra leads and paper for long-term use
✅ Portable Vital Signs Monitor and other laboratory needs
Who Will Benefit?
Over 250,000 people, including children, the elderly, and pregnant women
The dedicated hospital staff working tirelessly with limited tools
Families who deserve basic, life-saving care
A Voice from the Ground
“We watched one of our citizens walk one kilometer to the hospital. Because we didn’t have an EKG machine, her heart condition went undiagnosed. She was sent home. Hours later, she was brought back again — and died in the hospital waiting area. The staff couldn’t do anything. This should not happen again.”
