Hello, my name is Vera Tabib. I live in California, and my heart is deeply affected by the ongoing tragedy in Gaza—a place my family once called home. I have been praying for peace to return to the region, but as the war continues, I feel compelled to take action.

A dear friend of mine recently lost his cousin and best friend, Abboud, to this devastating conflict. He asked for my help in creating this GoFundMe to support Abboud’s wife, Gaissaa Anwar, and their young daughter, Ella, in escaping the horrors of war. With Abboud gone, Gaissaa and Ella are left with no means to flee. My friend, being male, is not allowed to leave Gaza, but he desperately wants to honor Abboud's wish of providing a safe future for his family.

Abboud and Gaissaa’s love story was one of hope, passion, and resilience. At just 21, Gaissaa had already built a beautiful life with her husband, who was her everything—her father figure, brother, partner, and best friend. They shared a dream of providing a brighter future for their daughter, Ella, now a year and a half old.

Abboud worked tirelessly to provide for his family, and his dream was to immigrate to a safer, more stable country. Tragically, the high costs of travel and immigration kept this dream out of reach.

In July 2024, while trying to gather belongings from their home after being displaced, Abboud and his brother lost their lives in a bombing. This devastating loss has left Gaissaa and Ella alone, struggling to survive in a war-torn region.

We aim to raise $50,000 to help Gaissaa and Ella escape Gaza and start anew in a safe, clean country—fulfilling Abboud’s dream of a better life for them. The funds will cover:
