Support Gail's Fight Against ALS
Donation protected
We’re raising $50,000 to support Gail Dutcher, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was recently diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) — a devastating and progressive neurodegenerative disease.
Gail was born in 1946 and has always been a source of strength and kindness. She worked at Kmart for nearly 32 years before retiring in 2012 to move closer to her son, Chris. Even in retirement, she stayed active by helping her grandson with his business, Vivid Farms. But in January 2024, Gail began experiencing unusual symptoms. After a long, difficult process of testing and specialist visits, she was officially diagnosed with ALS in March 2025.
ALS can be incredibly hard to diagnose — there’s no single test. It often takes months of eliminating other possibilities through MRIs, nerve conduction studies, blood work, and clinical observation. Sadly, since her diagnosis, Gail’s condition has deteriorated rapidly. She now requires full-time help for daily tasks — including eating, moving, and speaking.
To support her and her family, we are seeking help for the following urgent needs:
- A wheelchair-accessible vehicle to safely transport Gail to medical appointments and family gatherings
- Travel and hospital stay expenses for specialized ALS care
- Her insurance deductible of $5,200
- A wheelchair ramp for easier access into her son's home
- Ongoing medical equipment and accessibility upgrades, including the I-GAZE device which allows her to communicate by tracking her eye movements
- And a financial buffer for unexpected care needs
Gail has spent her life working hard and giving back — now it’s our turn to show up for her. Any donation, big or small, will help make this journey a little easier and let her family focus on love, comfort, and quality of life.
