Gail Needs Us: Facing Cancer and Hardship

Hello, I'm reaching out to all friends, family, and associates for financial assistance due to my recent diagnosis of cancer. I had a tumor on my tonsil that was found to be malignant. The tumor was removed but the surrounding tissue has to be treated to avoid spreading to my lymph nodes. It's been a struggle. I've been through 2 surgeries. Some good days and some not so good. I have been drained of all savings due to co-pays and not being able to work. I'm on SS which is only once a month and does not cover all of my bills. I have not worked since October so everything is behind. I'll be returning to work (Insha'alla, God willing) in February.

I have never done this before. This is very embarrassing for me but I have to swallow my pride now. I have worked all of my adult life without having to ask anyone for anything. I am on the verge of losing everything, my home, my car, everything.

I have applied for help in the form of food stamps, temporary disability, and utility help. I am still waiting for that to come through.

I have 30 radiation treatments to complete before returning home and to work. I am being housed at the ACS (American Cancer Society) Hope Lodge in Philadelphia for 7 weeks which is a blessing. The hospital is an hour from home and I go for treatments everyday.

I don't know what else to say, I need financial help ASAP. I'm sorry that I'm reaching out during the holidays, such bad timing, I understand.
