Reaching out to all and setting up this account on behalf of my sister, Megan, her husband Jim, and their spirited, strong 4-year-old son, Gaelen Donley. Gaelen was recently diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (B-ALL).

On September 18th my nephew, Gaelen, was admitted to the ER and promptly transferred to the Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital. Once there he received multiple life-saving blood transfusions, which stabilized him to receive a chemo port in his chest and undergo a bone marrow biopsy which helped diagnose and determine the type of leukemia he has.

The past 10 days have been stressful and hard for the Donley family, who also welcomed their second child, Eisley, into the world on August 18th. Megan & Jim are truly handling all of this with admirable strength, reasoning, and determination to take the best care of their family. Raising a newborn is one of the most demanding times of parenthood and they are figuring out how to do that while also nurturing and supporting their son through something no child should have to endure.

Now with an official diagnosis and the ability to establish a treatment plan with their doctors, the Donley family can focus on the road ahead. Gaelen currently is and will be severely immunocompromised for the next 8 months while undergoing the standard course of chemotherapy and steroid treatments.

Gaelen will have to continue his pre-kindergarten education from home through the course of his treatment. The next 8 months will consist of home treatment and routine visits to Arnold Palmer Children's hospital for chemotherapy. Megan & Jim are sorting out exactly how, but know that prioritizing Gaelen's recovery will mean less time for work. Although the initial treatment is over an 8-month period, it will not be for at least 3 years that total remission can be determined and confirmed.

I've created this page to help lessen the financial burden this will have on their family. Insurance is a great anchor to this fight, but as we all know, there are many things it simply does not cover. If able, please contribute what you can to make this all a little easier on the Donley family! Prayers, words of affirmation, or success stories are also very encouraged!

Thank you for being there for Gaelen and The Donley Family!
