Support Gaby's Dream at Columbia University
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Gaby, a first-gen afro-latina trying to raise funds for my tuition at Columbia University. Where I am studying Latin American and Caribbean Studies as well as Oral History. In hopes of sharing the stories of the queer Indigenous population in the region. This topic in particular interests me as a queer person with Indigenous ancestry in the Dominican Republic.
In making a donation you would be able to help me make the most of my time at Columbia. At this point I have already received my scholarships and taken out federal loans, I am still short of $13,000 for my tuition this semester. However, even in raising the minimum needed to cover just my tuition, I will have to work two jobs in order to pay my bills. I am not one to shy away from hard work. There are times during my undergraduate years that I worked three to four jobs while going to school full time. Unfortunately, circumstances have changed and I now find myself with mobility issues due to a hypermobility disorder. Making this an unsustainable lifestyle for me. Investing in my education would allow me to take fellowships, mingle with peers and professors, join clubs, and dedicate myself to my studies.
A donation in any amount would be greatly appreciated and aid me in fulfilling my dreams. If you are unable to donate a share would be just as welcome. Thank you for your time and consideration.
