Support Gaby's Trip to Tokyo

Hello, my name is Gabriela Trujillo and I am currently a junior at Aspire Golden State Prep Academy in Oakland, California. I recently applied to CIEE study abroad program in Tokyo, Japan and I got accepted! Getting accepted was a huge accomplishment for me and my community because students who come from a low income family and attend underfunded schools, like myself, are not exposed to amazing opportunities like this one. As a result of these circumstances, I've learned to advocate for myself and take ownership of my education and find ways to make ends meet. Although I was awarded a full scholarship there are still some expenses that the program doesn't cover. Here are some of the major expenses I still need to cover:


- Airfare

- Passport Fees

- Fees to get College Credit for the Japanese course


This summer will be the most memorable experience and any donation amount is appreciated and helpful. I never thought in a million years that I would have the opportunity to travel at the age of 16. Learning Japanese has been on my bucket-list for so long and I can't believe I'm finally going to check it off thanks to you! I'll surely keep everyone updated on my trip and I can't wait to come back to California with a whole new perspective.
