Hello, my name is Gaby, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Applied Analytics at Columbia University, a rigorous program that equips leaders to use data to solve real-world social challenges. For me, this degree is much more than a credential. It is the next step in a lifelong commitment to public service, and community impact.
Today, I am facing an unexpected financial emergency that threatens my ability to remain enrolled and remain housed while completing my studies. I am humbly asking for your support so that I can continue this journey and prevent my dreams and years of dedicated public service from being derailed.
My professional life has always been rooted in service. My path has taken me from:
- The White House, where I learned discipline, confidentiality, accountability, and what it means to serve with integrity
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where I supported essential government operations and sharpened my ability to work under pressure
- Bloomberg, where I managed global client relationships and strengthened my communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
These experiences shaped my values and prepared me for the rigor of Columbia’s Applied Analytics program. More importantly, they strengthened my commitment to using data and technology to uplift communities This degree will give me the advanced tools I need to turn that commitment into lifelong impact.
I was slated to receive a scholarship that would fully cover my tuition and essential expenses. Just days before the funds were disbursed, the scholarship was withdrawn. Overnight, I was left with no way to cover tuition, housing, books, or basic living expenses. I immediately took action:
- Applied to countless scholarships
- Requested additional financial aid
- Cut my expenses down to the bare minimum
Despite these efforts, the financial gap grew rapidly. The rigorous, full-time demands of the Applied Analytics program require my complete focus; working part-time has not been enough to overcome this sudden and significant deficit.
To remain housed, and complete this two-year graduate program, I am seeking support to cover the essential costs:
- Tuition & University Fees (Two-Year Program): $137,000
- Housing & Utilities (Two Years): $40,000
- Living Expenses (Food, transportation, basic essentials): $18,000
- Academic Materials & Technology: $5,000
I must secure funding by February 20th in order to remain enrolled and maintain stable housing. If you are able to help, even a small donation makes a profound impact. If you can’t donate, sharing my story with your network is just as valuable and deeply appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, for caring, and for standing with me on this journey.
With Deepest Gratitude,
